Bra Saves Life

Posted by Boone On April - 30 - 2009

Victorias Secret Diamond BraA Detroit woman recently discovered a new sort of miracle bra as her life was quite possibly saved by her underwire. The 57 year old looked out her window just as three robbers were escaping from the neighbor’s house, one of the men shot at her and the bullet smashed through the window and right into the metal underwire of the woman’s bra. She escaped virtually unscathed. This incredible bra story leaves me wondering if my undergarments provide all the protection... more

Posted by Boone On April - 27 - 2009

Ellen’s science guy, Steve Spangler knows how to make a point. Spangler, a regular on the Ellen show demos interesting science toys and experiments, recently one involving Ellen and a bed nails! On that episode of the Ellen DeGeneres Show, Ellen was placed on a bed of over 4000 nails with the assistance of Steve Spangler. Ellen performed well under pressure. Believe it or not, the secret is actually the number of nails on the bed and the distributed pressure. The more nails the better since... more

Modern Pirate Gaaaaarb!

Posted by Boone On April - 27 - 2009

Modern Pirates I’ve never really understood the affinity people have for pirates. These are people who were known for raping and pillaging, right? Not something that you’re normally hero-worship. So, I’ve come to the conclusion that it was the outfits. I mean it’s hard not to like someone wearing a puffy shirt, bright red harem pants and loads of wonderful accessories including overstated hats, bandanas, peg legs, parrots and eye patches. Classic Pirate: ...lets call him 'Jack' So with the... more

Tired of being wallpaper? Let’s face it, sometimes it sucks blending in. Whether you’re at the club with your buds, celebrating another week of employment with co-workers or just out running around with friends, here are 5 things you can use to start standing out. The Linen Sportcoat This season don’t forget to bust this bad boy out. Yea, I know, I remember the whole Don Johnson thing too, and sure it ruined this look for a while…but its back. They look good and are fairly practical. Besides,... more

Zac Efron with Vanessa Hudgens: Get the Look

Posted by Boone On April - 21 - 2009

Hudgens and Efron There’s nothing hotter than Zac Efron right now, especially with the release of his movie 17 Again. So why not get his look and see if you can score a hottie like his hoops date, Vanessa Hudgens. Starting from the ground up, Zac Efron is sporting a pair of simple white flip flops, but guessing that he didn’t get his at a drug store in the under $3 bin, I’m suggesting a medium grey HUGO Hugo Boss pair that will go with just about everything, especially the rest... more

Camping with Tom Cruise

Posted by Boone On April - 20 - 2009

Apparently the economy is hitting some of the uber-rich harder than we know. It’s cutting into their caviar and champagne diets, their expensive coifing and their vacation time. Believe it or not mega-couple, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, have publicly announced that they will be taking their daughter, Suri, on a camping vacation this summer. YES, a camping trip. Now, I’m not sure if the couple actually knows what camping is as evidenced by an interview for the Mirror where Katie describes... more

The 5 Worst Fashion Trends of 2009 (so far)

Posted by Boone On April - 17 - 2009

2009 is bringing a huge variety of fashion trends with no one item or look leading the pack, except perhaps the gladiator shoe. Amid all this stylish experimentation there are a bunch of big missteps and fashion faux pas. It could be that 2009 is ushering an era that will rival the 80’s for embarrassing photos. So let’s take a look at some of these fashion fumbles. Mary-Kate Olsen Headband The headband worn over the forehead, as seen here on Mary-Kate Olsen. Originally this look started... more

The Jersey Dress: Just Cool Enough for Spring

Posted by Boone On April - 17 - 2009

The Spring dresses this season are to die for! My personal favorite style is the matte jersey dress – a smoothly cool blend of polyester and spandex knit that drapes so wonderfully and never, ever, ever wrinkles. April temperatures can range from the 30s to 70s from day to day. The middle-weight poly/spandex fabric makes the matte jersey knit dress a perfect solution. Some may argue that the matte jersey fabric doesn’t breathe as well as its lighter cousin, the cotton jersey dress.... more

Over the last few years there has been an alarming trend as tiny dogs have adopted young starlets and used them simply as accessories. We worry what will happen to these young stars after they’ve been dropped by their dogs, consider the case of Lindsay Lohan who was at the top of her game while under the care of the Maltese, Chloe, but suddenly hit the skids when she was no longer spotted with the noted canine. Perhaps another tiny pup will take her under their wing and save her from herself. But... more

Chic, Sexy Maternity Clothes

Posted by Boone On April - 13 - 2009

Remembering the horrid, shapeless maternity dresses and pregnancy shirts that bagged in some places and pulled in others, it makes me wish I’d known about Isabella Oliver six years ago when I was pregnant. Thank god! A women’s clothing designer finally understands that we women want to look stylish and beautiful during pregnancy, too, not just before & after! Of course it would take a designer women’s clothing brand to create chic maternity clothing. Isabella Oliver has taken... more
