Victorias Secret Diamond Bra

This incredible bra story leaves me wondering if my undergarments provide all the protection that they can. My first thought is the Victoria’s Secret Diamond Bra now that has to be a bra with some serious protection, but it’s also a bra with a serious price tag. So maybe I need to arm myself with something a little bit more affordable. The Wacoal Underwire Sports Bra seems to have a generous underwire, but I’m not sure that I would trust it to stop a bullet. Most of the other bras are designed to be sexy rather than bulletproof, like the Chantelle Intimates Caprice 3127 Underwire Bra or the Calvin Klein Color Block Lace Balconette Bra.

So then I decided that maybe I need to step outside of the typical lingerie outlets and did a Google search for bulletproof bras and I came up with a German bulletproof bra but the bra must be used in combination with a bulletproof vest so that kind of defeats the purpose as I’m not about to wear a bulletproof vest.

After further searching I came up with a Sao Paulo story about a 58 year old woman who was saved by a wad of money stuffed into her bra and suddenly I had an idea. What if I combined the Wacoal Underwire Sports Bra with a personal bra stash secret money pouch! I’d be virtually unstoppable!

Ellen’s science guy, Steve Spangler knows how to make a point. Spangler, a regular on the Ellen show demos interesting science toys and experiments, recently one involving Ellen and a bed nails!

On that episode of the Ellen DeGeneres Show, Ellen was placed on a bed of over 4000 nails with the assistance of Steve Spangler.
Ellen performed well under pressure. Believe it or not, the secret is actually the number of nails on the bed and the distributed pressure. The more nails the better since the entire weight of Ellen’s body was spread across the tips of all of those nails.

But we all knew Ellen works well under pressure…

Modern Pirates

Classic Pirate: ...lets call him 'Jack'

Let’s start at the bottom and give them a practical waterproof work boot but something stylish like the Norcross Servus 12” Knee Boots practical and stylish. Moving upward, I think a sleeker fitting pair of trousers is good, but something with a splash of color like the Ed Hardy Print Velour Pants. The colorful dragon tattoo is energetic and yet threatening at the same time and the pants have an elastic waist for comfort. I think the puffy shirt is no longer practical so how about something more trim like a graphic thermal t-shirt like the Wicked Quick Slim Fit Crewneck Thermal, it’s a bit edgy and stylishly worn. And finally, instead of an eye patch and an overstated hat, how about a nice pair of Maui Jim Canoes Wrap Sunglasses and a Lacoste Croc Logo Beanie. (I know its rough at sea, but our friend “Jack” should probably stay away from the waterproof eyeliner)

As far as pets go, I still think a sassy parrot is a great idea but because they have not undergone the long captive breeding process that other birds have they’re actually better off in the wild. So a nice Cockatiel would be a better option. And suddenly, Voila! You’ve got a modern pirate that is dressed to impress.

The Linen Sportcoat

This season don’t forget to bust this bad boy out. Yea, I know, I remember the whole Don Johnson thing too, and sure it ruined this look for a while…but its back.

They look good and are fairly practical. Besides, who the heck wants to wear a heavy sportcoat in warm weather anyway? If you want to stand out this season a linen sportcoat ought to do the trick. So dig one out of the ‘80s will come back’ section of your closet (come on you know who you are) or pick one up before summer is over and we have to abide by that no white after baseball season rule.

The Fedora

Okay, I see these all over the place now. Everybody from freaky crazy Britney Spears to Brad Pitt seems to be digging on the style.

Why not pop one of these caps on your noggin and head out for night with the boys. It’s a hip look and easy to pull off. Although I prefer the straw fedora, they come in many styles to fit your occasion.

The Stogie

I like cigars. I always have. I know it’s not PC and I have heard all the reasons why I shouldn’t take enjoyment on the rare occasions I light one up. But I still do.

I can think of few things better than gathering with a bunch of buds for a ball game and enjoying a little piece of hand rolled satisfaction. One of my favorites is the Ashton Cigars. What does this have to do with not blending in, well, your freaking smoking a cigar and these days people just don’t do that anymore.

The Shoes

Slip on a great pair of shoes and you get respect. Ok not really, but you sure feel like you should. Every put together guy should have at least 1 good pair of dress shoes he can wear for interviews, business meetings, dates and well anywhere where your standard kicks just won’t do. I’d start with a nice cap-toe brown shoe and branch out from there. This is a perfect shoe for the office and can be paired with some nice jeans for the quick casual transition on a Friday while providing enough pop to really make a statement.

The Shades

I’m not sure why, but shades really can draw attention. Ever notice that every time a celebrity wants to be incognito they wear sunglasses over their peepers?

I’m not saying that you want to hit up a club wearing sunglasses. Oh, you’ll get noticed alright, but I’m guessing for the wrong reasons. Nah, use them for what they were designed for, protecting your eyes from the sun. Nothing beats a good pair of Aviator sunglasses for a classic look that provides everything you’ll need. Still, I’d keep them handy for those times when the flashes are just too much.

Hudgens and Efron

There’s nothing hotter than Zac Efron right now, especially with the release of his movie 17 Again. So why not get his look and see if you can score a hottie like his hoops date, Vanessa Hudgens.

Starting from the ground up, Zac Efron is sporting a pair of simple white flip flops, but guessing that he didn’t get his at a drug store in the under $3 bin, I’m suggesting a medium grey HUGO Hugo Boss pair that will go with just about everything, especially the rest of the ensemble.

For shorts it appears that the High School Musical star is wearing a pair of brown cargo shorts which is very similar to the brown pair of Watson 3 Cargo Shorts found at Nordstrom.

His v-neck graphic print bird t-shirt is the bet part of the outfit, but unfortunately I just can’t find the exact shirt anywhere but along the same vein is this great MARC by MARC JACOBS Slim Fit Crewneck T-Shirt or any of the graphic screen print tees by Ames Bros Quality Gear.

And finally the celebrity must-have item, sunglasses. Zac Efron is sporting a pair of classic aviator sunglasses very similar to the Ray-Ban Classic Aviator Sunglasses found at Nordstrom and Macy’s.

Apparently the economy is hitting some of the uber-rich harder than we know. It’s cutting into their caviar and champagne diets, their expensive coifing and their vacation time. Believe it or not mega-couple, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, have publicly announced that they will be taking their daughter, Suri, on a camping vacation this summer. YES, a camping trip.

Now, I’m not sure if the couple actually knows what camping is as evidenced by an interview for the Mirror where Katie describes a previous camping trip where Tom made the family pasta carbonara. Now, in my world, that’s a near impossibility while camping. Then again, for me a camping luxury would be a campfire grill and skillet and I’m guessing the Cruise family comes with a complete camping kitchen or maybe even a portable catering RV.

In addition, in the Mirror article it is suggested that the family will be traveling with a Scientology representative and security. Which makes one wonder what the portable Cruise camp will look like. Frankly, I can’t envision a series of modest  tents as most people would take on a camping trip. I think its more likely the family and their entourage will be traveling in a fleet of Luxury RVs that come complete with built in refrigerators, dish washers, comfy couches, full sized beds, indoor plumbing and they can be outfitted with flat screen televisions.

The Cruises have said that they are taking Suri camping to give her a taste of what a normal childhood is like. I’m sure with an entourage including bodyguards, religious advisors, a fleet of high-tech RVs and pasta carbonara, Suri will know exactly what it’s like to be an average American child.

And finally a trend that shouldn’t be worn on men or women, these Chloe harem pants. Call them what you want, they’re MC Hammer pants. A horrible fashion statement at the time and now just a sad look that even makes the stick proportions of a runway model seem a bit too curvy in all the wrong places.

Over the last few years there has been an alarming trend as tiny dogs have adopted young starlets and used them simply as accessories.
