Jessica Simpson Traveling

Jessica Simpson Traveling

When I was a little girl my mom used to dress us up for any flights we took. She explained this to me years later by saying she felt like we were guests, almost as though we were being welcomed into someone’s home, and thought we should look nice for the experience. Now, as airport security has clamped down and short layovers often force a mad dash across the terminal things have changed a little bit in my life. I no longer really dress up for flights, I mean I wear running shoes for that burst of required exercise. And I carry a backpack filled with everything I need so I don’t have to pay those outrageous baggage fees.

It’s hard to look nice with a backpack and running shoes and yet I still try. I believe that mom did have a point and if you look good and treat the experience as though you were a guest you’re more likely to receive a few kindnesses from your hosts and fellow travelers.

So how do celebrities dress when they travel? Well, I’ve been keeping my eye out and watching the rags and I was pleasantly surprised.  I expected them to be dressed down and look incredibly sloppy, but they weren’t. In fact, the uniform for celebrities traveling seems to be tight black pants, a tight black shirt and a jacket of some sort.

I’m particularly fond of Jessica Simpson’s take on the celebrity airport uniform with her oversized bag instead of a backpack and her whimsical yellow and black platform pumps.
