Too often celebrities are wrapped up in their own vanity to be practical and suddenly we see little girls emulating them wearing paper thin coats in below zero weather and stilettos gracing the feet of prepubescent girls. So it’s nice to see someone get it right once in a while.

Katie Holmes dressed appropriately for the Sundance Film Festival’s premiere of The Extra Man and proved that suitable clothing can be attractive too. Clad in a cute, long winter coat and matching hat and scarf over her motocross jeans and finally, capped the entire outfit off with a pair of low heeled black boots.

In the past I have attributed Katie Holmes for almost single handedly creating the boyfriend jean craze and now that she’s been spotted wearing the latest in denim, the motocross jean, you can almost bet that this trend will take off like wildfire. In fact, I would say you’re pretty safe rushing out right now and buying a pair or flipping to your favorite online retailer and ordering some.

Basically, the new rule is, if Katie Holmes shows up in public in a new pair of jeans then you need to have that same type of jeans like yesterday because this girl is so cool and chic that she doesn’t need to be cutting edge to be hot, she can even be practical and show how confident and incredible she really is.
