The one look that is really sweeping the runways, the celebrity events and even across Middle America is the motorcycle trend. It may have something to do with the economic crisis and the need to feel strong which translates into tough clothing. Or it could be less of an emotional need and more of a practical one, motorcycle wear is all about leather, which is durable and warm and a smart choice for the season.

If you want to stay ahead of the trends then your first purchase should be a motorcycle jacket. This leather staple of the biker crowd is an obvious nod to the motorcycle trend and it’s one of those rare fashion trends that is weather appropriate. Spend a little to buy a good quality motorcycle jacket in a neutral color because this trend will probably still be around next year, not as wildly popular but still there. And if you do live in Middle America you’ll be cutting edge this year and one of the masses next.

The next must have motorcycle fashion trend is the motorcycle boot. Here you can go for a subtle motorcycle boot that isn’t as trendy or you can go way out and get something that screams Harley Davidson, either way you’ll probably get a lot of wear out of them this season as they’re also weather appropriate and this year the motorcycle boot is considered sexy.

The motorcycle is optional, but it wouldn’t surprise me to see some of Hollywood’s trendiest riding a hog this winter.
