A new spring trend has been spotted, people are wearing printed bottoms. Tops and dresses were the place to find prints in the past, although they have popped up on bottoms at times. But now it seems that prints are taking over bottoms in a new trendy way.

The trick is to be careful with the prints you select as they can draw attention to places you’d rather not have people paying attention to. They can also be sliming and flattering if you find the right print. This means you’re going to have to try things on, folks. Never a fan of trying clothes on, this is one of those situations where even I would head into the dreaded fitting room.

To get a slimming effect from a print, look for colors that are similar in tone with a print that is not too small and not too large. Stay away from really bold statements as they rarely look good on any frame and draw all the attention to the bottom half of your body. Another thing to consider when buying printed bottoms, especially pants, is the seams. Not many manufacturers line up the fabrics so the seams will look askew which isn’t always a bad thing but can do horrible things for your butt in some situations, so be sure to check out your backside too.

So the word of advice here is, if you’re brave and bold enough to wear printed clothing, try some printed bottoms this season, just make sure you try them on first to ensure that you’re getting the effect you want.
