Sexy Construction Worker is Brad Pitt

Anyone at the Oscar Niemeyer Cultural Centre may need a double take as this sexy construction worker walks by because he’s no construction worker, he’s Brad Pitt.

Brad Pitt Construction

Donning the required construction hard hat and his blaze orange vest slung over his man bag, Brad Pitt toured the project with an apparent eye toward supporting the construction and learning about the environmental aspect.

Brad Pitt founded the Make it Right Foundation after Hurricane Katrina devastated the Lower 9th Ward and it’s his goal to create affordable housing that has a low impact on the environment. They’ve become Cradle to Cradle certified which is more of a concept than a strict set of guidelines but the plan is to think of everything in terms of its impact on society, the economy and the environment. This concept is being used in the Make it Right houses to guide the design and materials selection processes.

Initially talk was of using alternative and renewable energy sources for the homes but currently the focus seems to have been more geared toward the materials used in the process and making homes than their energy sources and output.

Pitt may be taking some tips from the great Oscar Niemeyer’s work at the Oscar Niemeyer Cultural Center. A noted modernist architect, Niemeyer’s architectural style may create more interest in the Make it Right homes in the Lower 9th Ward or perhaps Brad Pitt is considering branching out and expanding his architectural influence.
