Summer Beach Wish List

Summer 2009 is about to hit the beaches and it’s time to get ready to join it. I’ve scoured the web to find some of the latest and greatest trends for this season. They’re not all must haves but they’re pretty cool and the well decked out beach goer will find that they’re all essential.

Obviously swimwear is essential summer beach garb for both women and men, but this season women get a little boost (and a tuck and a lift) exactly where they need it with the Miraclesuit. The company claims they can make you look 10 pounds thinner in 10 seconds and this season they’ve come up with some looks that are much more desirable than they have been in the past. So if you’re looking to hide a little midsection fluff then this suit should be in your beach bag.

For the men this beach season the board short is the way to go. Whether you want to go short and sassy or long and subdued, this style fits every taste and shape and looks great. It’s the must have swimming accessory for men this season.

Another item that you absolutely need is an arsenal of sun care products. Protecting your skin from burn is key to preventing cancer and wrinkles as well as dorky tan lines and pain. If you want to look a healthy golden color try one of the new bronzers, they’re so much better than the old ones that turned your palms orange.

Beach shoes are another item you need to get you to and from the soft sun drenched sands, but if you want to be a stylish beachgoer, look for a sexy beaded pair of flip flops that works for day and night.

For men the flip flop is also an essential beach item, but the beaded look probably won’t go over so well with the ladies. Instead, pick up a pair of flip flops with a patterned footbed, this is a huge trend in men’s shoes right now, even though they’re not likely to be seen and they’ll wear out quickly. Remember, fashion is nothing if not impractical.

For the adventurous soul, a Kayak  is a great way to wile away some time at the beach. Probably not the best thing to take in the water with great white sharks, but loads of fun in less dangerous waters.

Okay, so this particular beach kitchen is a bit unrealistic but having a portable grill is a great beach accessory that can extend your luxurious time on the sand and surf through most of the day. And what’s better than spending all day at the beach?
