A reciprocating saw is another really useful tool as it makes quick work of tasks that would take forever if you’re relying on muscle power alone. They’re handy for a bunch of projects and will be more useful that you’d imagine.

And finally, what every homeowner cannot live with out, a tape measure. It’s a low tech but essential. If you want you can go completely high tech and get an electronic laser package you can but that’s probably going overboard when a simple tape measure will do the trick.
