On the opposite end of the spectrum, when Cindy Crawford’s Home Collection hit the market it seemed more than a stretch, I mean what does a supermodel really know about interior design, but for some reason she’s done quite well, I think the key is inexpensive prices tagged with a well known celebrity name and image.

Not to be outdone, Kathy Ireland Home Solutions cropped up and this supermodel is now hawking her name with a bunch of new products including home interiors and modern patio furniture. She’s had some success but not quite the draw that Cindy Crawford does; sounds like her career.

Let’s just be thankful that Donald Trump’s name is tied to Trump Home Furniture and not to a hair care line. The idea was to come up with a line of furniture that feels and looks luxurious, something one of the most famous millionaires in the world would want. Not a huge success but the line is holding in there and may be able to last the test of time.

The choice of Arnold Palmer is a little stranger yet but Lexington Home Brands decided to roll out the Palmer Home Furniture line with the concept of recreating country club elegance with traditional lines and pieces. The success of this line in the future will probably not be tied very closely to Arnold Palmer’s name or celebrity but more than likely it will be related to the classic nature of the furniture pieces.

I’ll probably never understand why people are more likely to buy something when a celebrity name is attached but apparently they do so we’re likely to see more and more celebrities attaching their names to furniture and other products in the future.
