2009 Holiday Season

2009 Holiday Season

The holidays are fraught with stress and one of the biggest for many women is what to wear. With work parties, family get togethers, romantic dinners, and cookie exchanges there are so many occasions where you need just the right outfit for the season. So what are the trendy looks this season?

Fancy Formal Party
If you’ve got a fancy formal occasion during the 2009 holiday season then you’re going to want to opt for the standard little black dress but dress it up with some great accessories that are really in the moment. Hoisery is a range again this season, while nude nylons are still not something you’ll be seeing on the fashionistas in the crowd but patterned tights and colored leggings will be everywhere. Statement jewelry is also a must, with bib necklaces, oversized rings, dangly earrings, and bangly bracelets – but don’t pile on too many statements, let one or two speak for themselves.

Work Party
For a work party this season you’ll want to show your fashionable and tasteful side. Here a cashmere sweater paired with a pair of well fitting pants and some trendy booties create a good look that’s full of class but still not painfully professional. Look to incorporate color into your work party outfit. Rather than sticking to black, opt for pants in a brown with a brightly colored top.

Casual Gathering
If you’re going out with your friends you’ll want a more casual look but something that’s fun and sexy and trendy. The driving force in denim is currently distressed denim but the ratty look may not be what you want for a holiday party. A dressier denim trend is the dark rinse jeans which has a much cleaner look for parties. Show off your long thin legs (dark rinse jeans are also slimming) with a pair of high heeled dress shoes that will make you look even longer and leaner. For the top look for a sexy V-neck sweater that will show off your holiday jewelry.
