Sweater Dress

Last year it was all about the sweater dress and for those of us that dug that trend and decided to pick up a couple last year we’re in luck because the sweater dress is still a popular clothing item for the winter 2009 and 2010.

To make last season’s sweater dress look great this season you’ll want to pair it with some of the latest trends in accessories.

The first consideration is shoes. Boots are really the way to go this season and it seems that as long as it’s a boot you can’t go wrong. The two hottest trends in boots this season are booties and over the knee boots, both of which look incredible with sweater dresses.

Hosiery is almost a must – scratch that, it is a must. The days of the nude nylons are long gone but tights and leggings are hot, hot, hot. You can keep the look classic with a pair of dark tights that match your sweater dress or you can snaz it up a little bit with some flashy or printed tights.

The belt is also an accessory that feels like a must for 2010. Find a wide belt that hides any tummy flaws and you have an incredibly flattering look that hugs just where it should, giving a sweater that appeal it’s known for.

The final touch is the jewelry and the jewelry trends this season are all about more but if you’re pairing vivid tights with a belt then you’ll want to make the jewelry more subtle. If you’re going with a monochromatic tight and skipping the belt then go crazy and add a bib necklace or a statement piece.
