Valentine's Day Gifts

The most romantic holiday of the year is coming this weekend and anyone who has to buy a gift for a man knows it’s not easy. For women there are the traditional flowers, jewelry, chocolates and the multitude of other little tokens of affection that have been printed on flyers and stuffed into our mailboxes. But what do you get a man for Valentine’s Day? You could go with the ubiquitous tie but you bought him one for Christmas, and his birthday and you’ll probably get him another one for father’s day. So why not be creative and try something new this year?

Spoil your sweetie this valentine’s day with something that is a treat for both of you, perhaps something that relates to his favorite hobby, giving you both a little break. Buy him something for the boat, for fishing, a hunting accessory, or maybe something for a camping trip. This not only lets him know that you know what he really likes (and it’s not the ties) but that you encourage him to pursue activities that may not include you.

If you don’t have an outdoorsy sort of guy, how about some gifts that he can use at home, maybe even for fixing things around the house. Most men love power tools and most women love having a man who can fix things. Let’s face it ladies, a handy man around the house is a good thing, so encourage his hobbies by picking up the latest and greatest power tool, even if he has last year’s model.

If you’d like to give him a gift that’s a treat for you as well, how about a discount trip? There are some crazy cheap travel deals out there right now and there’s no reason you shouldn’t take advantage of them. By planning a little getaway you both reap the rewards and you can extend that romantic feeling a little bit longer.
